Vehicle opening service (keys locked in car or boot).
We can perform non destructive entry to most vehicles. We do this via the locks – not by bending a door and sticking a coat hanger in. Most modern vehicles can deadlock, in which case your coat hanger won’t work anyway. We open vehicles without resorting to force. We can help if you’ve locked your keys in your car or the boot near Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Forest of Dean etc.
You can watch YouTube for how to open your car door with a tennis ball or a potato. It won’t help get you in.
We open cars and vans all the time. We’ve only had to open one Aston Martin and one Rolls Royce. (So far).
Ignition barrels and door locks
Vehicle ignition barrels and door locks can be stiff or fail completely. Ford Transits and Transit Customs are the worst for this. We carry a stock of replacement locks for many cars and vans.
Car keys and remote key programming
Modern cars have immobilisers. The keys have a transponder inside. If the immobiliser doesn’t detect the correct transponder chip the vehicle will not start. The metal part of a key can easily be copied (or the lock smashed off). An immobiliser is more difficult to bypass.
The price of a key depends on the exact year, make, model of the vehicle and the type of remote you need. Send us your VRN, tell us what you need and ask for a quote. Some vehicles need dismantling/removal of dashboard, modules and PCB level components to program a key.
If you have a Ford Transit, VW Transporter, Fiat Panda, Range Rover Evoque or something unusual, ask us for a quote.
A remote to suit a VW T5 Transporter is currently £85 for most pre 2012 models. Call or message for a quote for other makes/models.
Should you bother getting a spare car key? That’s up to you. If you’re careful you might never need it the spare key. On the other hand….

Got fault lights showing but your garage can fit you in? We can provide diagnostic reports for most vehicles. This report can be emailed or printed for you. Component coding, ABS, and service light resets can be performed.
